The Seismology Section of the American Geophysical Union recently released their Outstanding Student Presentation Awards (OSPAs) (Part 1 and Part 2 of the list). These awards recognize excellence among student talks and posters at AGU meetings. The IRIS Undergraduate Internship Program celebrates the success of all these students , but especially Evans Onyango, an alumnus of the IRIS internship program from 2016. Evans is currently a graduate research assistant in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico. Evans' research involved an 2-D and 3-D seismic reflection survey in Yucca Flat, on the Nevada National Security Site to constrain chimney architecture of an underground nuclear explosion.
