The project involves seismic reflection profiles across a complex, basement-involved interchange between the North Sheep Mountain anticline and the adjacent southern terminus of Derby Dome, which formed along the southeastern margin of the Wind River Mountains during the Laramide orogeny. The experiment will identify fault geometries responsible for the en echelon interchange between the Sheep Mountain and Derby Dome during Laramide deformation, and will help to evaluate the effects of both the local and regional stress fields that produced the deformation. This work will build upon our 2009 profiles in the southern Sheep Mountain area.
