Description
In September, 1988, the USGS, the US Air Force Geopphysics Laboratory (AFGL), and the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) conducted a seismic refraction/wide-angle reflection experiment in southern Ontario, New York, and New England to investigate the crustal and upper mantle velocity structure and inter-relationships of the North American craton, the Adirondack massif, and the northern Appalachians. The primary line of the experiment extended east from Marmora, Ontario, Canada across the Adirondacks in upstate New York, and the northern Appalachians in Vermont and New Hampshire to Waterville, Maine.
