Description
In November 1985, the USGS conducted a seismic-refraction survey in southeastern California and western Arizona as part of the Pacific-Arizona Crustal Experiment (PACE), a multi-disciplinary transect extending from the Pacific Ocean to the Colorado plateau. The survey was centered over the Whipple Mountains metamorphic core complex, an area characterized by extreme crustal extention.
