¿Cómo fue descubierto?
Andrija Mohorovicic nació en Croacia en 1857 y se formó en matemáticas y física. En 1892, mientras trabajaba en su tesis doctoral en meteorología en la Universidad de Zagreb sobre el estudio de las nubes, Andrija Mohorovicic convirtió en director del Observatorio Meteorológico de Zagreb. Al año siguiente se convirtió en profesor asociado de Astronomía y Geofísica.
